1:05 PM -- A Utah skier, Jamie Pierre, claims to have set the world record for jumping off a cliff: 245 feet. It's been documented on film and measured with lasers: Utah Skier Claims World Record Cliff Jump In WY.
"About 100 feet into the jump, Nielsen said Pierre couldn't keep his skis under him and went upside down," according to one report, from KUTV. "He landed headfirst and blew a hole 6 feet deep into the snow."
