MONTREAL -- ITF Optical Technologies, a worldwide supplier of state-of-the-art photoniccomponents for next-generation optical networks, announces the release ofits Differential Phase Shift Keying (DPSK) demodulator. This new product is specifically designed to demodulate an optical signalcoded using DPSK. Most fiber systems currently use on-off keying (OOK)modulation. Many studies have demonstrated that DPSK is a superiormodulation format. DPSK is currently widely deployed in mosttelecommunications systems, from modems to air traffic control. It isstarting to penetrate the fiber optics systems as well."The most important obstacle slowing the deployment of DPSK in fiber opticsis economical. We have proven that All-Fiber™ technology allows the buildingof cost-efficient DPSK demodulators. It will open the way for DPSK to becomethe new standard within a few years." said Eric Geoffrion, President and CEOof ITF Optical Technologies. "Our DPSK demodulator leverages our All-Fibertechnology to provide our customers with superior optical performancefeaturing, low excess loss, low PDL and a high isolation". This new productcomplements ITF's transmission portfolio, which also includes the 50 GHzInterleaver®, the market leader with high isolation and very low dispersion.ITF Optical Technologies Inc.
