India-based iSoftel Telecommunications to acquire performance management solutions provider Amoeba Telecom Ltd.

NEW DELHI -- iSoftel Telecommunications Pvt Ltd, an India-based subsidiary of iSoftel Ltd (SGX: ISOFTEL) (www.isoftel.com), a next generation software provider to the telecommunications industry, today announced its intent to acquire Amoeba Telecom Limited (AMOEBATEL), a public limited telecom development company whose shareholders include Intel Pacific Inc. and GE Capital Mauritius Equity Investment (GE). This acquisition will enable iSoftel to continue its strategy of penetrating the Asia Pacific region.“The recent global economic slowdown has deeply affected the telecom sector, and unfortunately, iSoftel has not been spared by the impact,” says Kevin Chia, iSoftel president and CEO. “One of the most critical issues during such a downturn is effective cost management.
