OXFORD, Mass. -- IPG Photonics Corporation, a leading designer and manufacturer of high performance fiber lasers and amplifiers, today announced the opening of its new world headquarters and manufacturing facilities in Oxford, Massachusetts. The two new custom-built structures, totaling approximately 70,000 sq. feet, house engineering, research and development, component testing, manufacturing, sales, customer support and executive offices. [Photo below] The new facilities will serve as IPG’s base for engineering, high volume manufacturing and component testing for North and South American customers. IPG also owns additional land at the site that is available for further expansion.“IPG Photonics has experienced dramatic growth in the US over the last two years,” said Dr. Valentin P. Gapontsev, founder and Chief Executive Officer of IPG Photonics. “We needed facilities in the US which would support our growth here and allow us to take advantage of more opportunities in the markets for our high performance lasers and amplifiers.
