John Thuma has been promoted to VP of worldwide sales, overseeing direct and channel sales organizations

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. -- iPass Inc. (www.ipass.com) announced today that the company has promoted John Thuma to Vice President of Worldwide Sales. Mr. Thuma will now oversee both direct and channel sales organizations in four global regions: the Americas, APAC (Asia Pacific), Japan, and EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa). Signaling its desire to be more responsive to Japanese enterprises, the company has also promoted Shoichi Kikuchi to managing director of its new Japan region, making it a distinct region from APAC. Mr. Kikuchi, who joined iPass in December 2000 as sales director for the Japan region, has over 20 years management experience in both Asia and Europe including 15 years in the networking and Internet industries, and has focused much of his career in the computer and network security arena. Mr. Kikuchi will report to John Thuma. Before joining iPass, John served as the western region vice president for UUNET, where he was responsible for a sales organization of more than 100 associates and more than $240 million in annual revenues. In addition, John was a sales director for CompuServe Network Services and started his career in account sales at AT&T. John holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Albertson's College of Idaho, Caldwell, Idaho. iPass Inc.
