QUEBEC CITY -- INO is proud to introduce its new polarization maintaining PoM fiber series. Products in the PoM fiber series include the ErboPoM and the PhotoPoM fibers. The ErboPoM fiber is a polarization maintaining fiber with a core that is doped with erbium making it the perfect choice for amplifiers requiring a polarized output. The ErboPoM fiber will maintain the state of polarization of the light as it travels through laser pigtails. The ErboPoM fiber offers a birefringence of 3x10-4 and excellent polarization extinction ratio up to 35dB in a standard EDFA configurations. The ErboPoM fiber comes in a variety of absorption levels rendering it easily adaptable to custom amplifier parameters. The fiber is designed to provide excellent efficiency, high level of repeatability, superior gain, low noise and high output power. The PhotoPom fiber consolidates photosensitivity and the polarization maintaining property in the same fiber. Applications such as laser pump stabilizers will benefit excessively from the fact that polarization maintaining fibers are also photosensitive. Whether hydrogen loading of the fiber is required or not, the advent of the PhotoPoM fiber will allow siginificant cost and time reductions by permitting gratings that are highly repeatable. INO
