EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- Infonet Services Corporation (NYSE:IN), a leading provider of global communications services for multinationals, announced today the appointment of Paul Hibbert as Chief Technology Officer. Paul, who has held various positions since joining the company in 1995, is Infonet’s first-ever appointed CTO, as the position and its responsibilities were historically aggregated between several different positions across the globe.

“Paul’s appointment is a reflection of our continued accelerated pace of technological change within Infonet,” said Jose A. Collazo, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Infonet. “It is important as we move forward to be able to quickly take advantage of new network and network access technologies, while we focus increasingly on value-added communications solutions. Paul will be vital in this process, together with his role in helping to control and reduce costs in our core network and access layers.”

“As far as the major global managed network service providers go, it’s well known that the solutions offered from provider to provider are based on state-of-the-art technology, so truly to offer value to multinationals a service provider has to set themselves apart,” said Paul Hibbert, Chief Technology Officer for Infonet. “Our unique position in the industry is derived from our ability to develop customised communication solutions based on strong technical expertise at both the global and the local level, which allows us more easily to provide consistent, cost-effective managed network solutions for multinationals.”
