SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- IDT(TM) (Integrated Device Technology, Inc.)(Nasdaq:IDTI), a leading communications IC company and the leading provider of network search engines (NSEs), today extended its leadership with the introduction of the industry's lowest-cost NSEs in 32Kx72 (2-Mbit) configurations. The two new NSEs interface to application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs) and field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), and are ideally suited for cost-sensitive applications in the enterprise and access markets, including VPNs, firewalls, Layer-2 and Layer-3 Ethernet switches, broadband remote access servers (BRAS), digital subscriber line access multiplexers (DSLAMs), cable modem termination systems (CMTS), and voice and wireless gateways.

Delivering advanced features at a low price point, the 75N42102 NSE operates at 100 million searches per second (MSPS) and can achieve search rates up to 200 MSPS by utilizing simultaneous multi-database lookup (SMDL), a feature that allows for efficient multiple packet searches. The IDT 75N43102 NSE is the industry's lowest-cost NSE and operates at 62.5 MSPS. Both NSEs are optimized for cost-sensitive systems that need to achieve increased packet-processing rates to facilitate additional services such as QoS support, IP security, classification, traffic management, ATM forwarding and address classification.
