Ibsen Offers Monitor, Manufacturing
ANAHEIM, Calif. -- OFC 2002 -- Ibsen Photonics, a leading supplier of holographic Phase masks
and high performance diffraction gratings, today unveils its
DWDM monitor -- the D-MON -- for real-time monitoring of
channel power in Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM)
systems. The D-MON power monitor including its electronics
has a footprint smaller than a business card and monitors the
individual power levels of up to 80 channels (50 GHz spacing)
in parallel. The D-MON monitor is Ibsen Photonics' first DWDM
module based on the Ibsen Diffractor platform, combining
in-house manufacture of diffraction gratings with compact

"Integrated DWDM power monitoring in network elements is
growing rapidly as it reduces installation and maintenance
costs and enables more dynamic DWDM networks," says Dirk
Jessen, VP Sales & Marketing of Ibsen Photonics "Our D-MON
Power monitor offers space and power savings with a direct
effect on operational costs brought about by our unique
diffraction grating expertise combined with a straight-
forward approach to manufacturing."
In a separate release:
Ibsen Photonics, a leading supplier of holographic Phase
masks and DWDM monitors based on diffraction gratings,
today announced the completion of its NFH service offering.
Ibsen NFH services are offered to manufacturers of integrated
optics and DFB lasers with an NFH process handbook and an
optimal layer-calculation package that provide a "kick-start"
to Near Field Holography for leading DWDM component manufac-
turers. Ibsen Photonics elaborates on its new NFH services
and displays its NFH Phase masks at the upcoming OFC 2002
in Anaheim, California at booth # 4936.
"Based on 6 years extensive research on NFH in collaboration
with Süss Microtec we have now fulfilled our set goal of
being able to offer a full range of NFH implementation
services to our customers" says Kristian Buchwald, Product
Manager at Ibsen Photonics, "In the end our customers must
develop their own proprietary processes in their own manufac-
turing environment, but our NFH services will "kick-start"
their optimization and improve their time to market signifi-
