11:00 AM -- Break out the pickled herring! Today is Norway Day!

Known, for some obscure reason, as "Olsok Eve" in Norway (known, in turn, as "Norge" in Norway), the celebration commemorates the martyrdom in 1030 of Norway's patron saint, known affectionately to his newly converted subjects as King Olaf the Fat. As befits a devout Christian, he died in battle.
