MONTREAL -- Hurricane Electric, the world’s largest IPv6-native Internet backbone, announced today that it has established a point-of-presence (PoP) at Cologix’s Montreal facility (formerly Canix 3) located at 1250 Rene Levesque West, Montreal, Canada.

The new PoP will allow carriers at Cologix’s Montreal facility to exchange IP traffic and “peer” directly with Hurricane Electric’s expanding global network. The new PoP will expand access to Hurricane’s next-generation Internet and IPv6 systems and services through 10GE (10 gigabit Ethernet), GigE (1 gigabit Ethernet) and100BaseT network connections.

“Hurricane Electric is excited to build on its relationship with Cologix,” said Mike Leber, Hurricane Electric’s President. “Being able to peer with up to seventy new carriers in Cologix’s Montreal facilities furthers Hurricane Electric’s commitment to giving Canadian customers access to best-of-breed IP connectivity.”
