Huawei Sales Hit $11B
SHENZHEN, China -- Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. ("Huawei"), a leader in providing next generation networks for telecommunications operators around the world, today announced that its global contract sales for 2006 reached USD11 billion, 65% of which comes from overseas market. 2006 global contract sales representing a year-over-year growth rate of over 34%. The increase is a result of continued market growth in the product areas of mobile network, next generation network ("NGN"), optical networks, data communications, software and applications and IP. The complex advantage appears in those fields.
Huawei achieved substantial breakthrough in development countries in 2006. Huawei was recognized and chosen by many top tier- one carriers, including Vodafone, Telefornica, KPN, Orange Group, Hellenic Telecommunications Organization SA (“OTE”) and Italia Telecom. Besides, Huawei has its presence in many developed countries in 2006, including Japan, North America, European countries, etc. To date, Huawei has been serving 31 of the world's top 50 carriers. Huawei gains 67 3G contracts, and the amount of UMTS contracts reached 35, 12 of which came from Europe.
