Huawei FTTR Solution Won the FTTx Innovation Award at the Lightwave Innovation Reviews

Recently, Lightwave, a media organization covering the global optical network industry, announced the Lightwave Innovation Reviews Honorees. Huawei won the FTTx Innovation Award for its fiber to the room (FTTR) solution. The Lightwave judge panel consists of executives, analysts, and engineers from operators and analyst organizations. It has granted awards in various technical fields of optical communications for many years, aiming to recognize excellent products and solutions in the optical communications field. During MWC 2023, Huawei launched the industry's first FTTR for home series products featuring the centralized Wi-Fi access network (C-WAN) architecture—FTTR OptiXstar F30 series products. The products are upgraded in aesthetics, rate, coverage, roaming, concurrency, and service quality, improving users' digital life experience, enhancing operators' broadband competitiveness, and opening up a trillion-dollar market space.

Hawei FTTR solution is the industry's first innovative networking solution that covers home and SME scenarios. It provides users with premium experiences such as ultra-high bandwidth, ultra-low latency, seamless Wi-Fi roaming, and intelligent self-management, and is favored by global operators and broadband users alike. Huawei's newly released FTTR OptiXstar F30 series products for home users and B30 series products for SMEs are based on the point-to-multipoint (P2MP) C-WAN architecture. They are the industry's first all-optical 2000 Mbps products supporting GPON/XGS-PON Combo upstream transmission. OptiXstar F30 supports up to 17 Wi-Fi 6 hotspots to realize 2000 Mbps Wi-Fi coverage in a whole house, imperceptible seamless indoor roaming, and concurrent connections for up to 128 smart terminals, acting as the all-optical network base for smart homes. The OptiXstar B30 supports flexible deployment of 32 Wi-Fi 6 hotspots on demand, concurrent connections for up to 300 terminals, and power over fiber (PoF) cable deployment, laying a network foundation for SMEs to go digital. In addition, Huawei provides the iMaster-NCE intelligent O&M platform and a user app to implement FTTR network topology visualization, automatic management, and instant optimization. In 2022, Huawei's FTTR solution won the Access Innovation Award from Total Telecom, a well-known international telecom media. Currently, 86 provincial operators in China have released commercial packages based on Huawei FTTR, and more than 20 operators outside China have put Huawei FTTR into commercial or pilot use. The number of global subscribers has exceeded 2 million.

Huawei FTTR provides premium stable ultra-gigabit Wi-Fi networks for broadband users and helps operators increase the average revenue per user (ARPU). It has become the first choice for operators to provide gigabit broadband and networking services. In China, Huawei FTTR helps operators in Shandong, Jiangsu, Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangdong win the Guanghua Cup Award. At the 2022 Broadband World Forum (BBWF), China Unicom won the Leading Connected Smart Home Operator Award for its whole-house optical broadband solution and services developed using Huawei FTTR. Based on the Huawei FTTR for SME solution, Hunan Mobile teamed up with Huawei to jointly develop the enterprise e-selection networking products to help SMEs go digital. For this reason, Hunan Mobile won the 2022 ICT Excellent Case Award.

The FTTx Innovation Award granted to Huawei by Lightwave is a recognition of Huawei's technological innovations in the optical access field by the ICT industry. With the continuous development and rapid technology evolution in the ICT industry, Huawei will continue to increase R&D investment and innovation, and improve the competitiveness of optical access products and solutions by combining technologies and practices. Huawei is looking forward to working with global operators to build home and SME networks, improve global home digital experience, help SMEs realize digital transformation, and light up the new digital era for homes and enterprises.
