PARIS -- Highdeal, the world’s leading supplier of pricing, rating and settlement solutions for emerging mobile and IP services, has been selected by Parla.it for the delivery of the Highdeal Transactive® software suite. Parla.it is an Italian subsidiary of France Telecom, established in 2004 to provide ADSL telephony services. Their flagship product, also by the name of Parla.it, was recently launched on January 1, 2005. It is an IP telephony service, ‘a second line’ intended for residential users with an existing ADSL connection. Parla.it proposes two monthly subscriptions : ‘ChiAma l’Italia’, providing unlimited calls to fixed line numbers for 19,89 Euros per month and ‘ChiAma l’Europa’, providing unlimited calls to fixed line numbers in Europe for 29,89 Euros per month.

One of the major features of the Parla.it service is that all sales are made either from the Call Center or from the online portal www.parla.it. The portal is at the heart of the services offering as it is the entry point for the customer, from subscription to service usage. To ensure the delivery of customer care from the portal, Parla.it required a flexible, easy to use and fast to deploy pricing, rating and billing solution able to deliver in the context of tight time to market constraints. Highdeal Transactive enables end users to manage their own subscriptions such as the types of services and the monitoring of their service usage in real-time and previous bills etc. all from a simple Internet connection to the portal www.parla.it. Highdeal Transactive enables Parla.it to facilitate fast price-plan creation and implementation, deliver efficient rating and bill creation with total flexibility for service customization.

Many factors influenced the selection of Highdeal such as the flexibility and ease of use, the speed of implementation and its moderate cost. Parla.it, which required an IT system, was looking for a complete turn-key solution providing rating, enabling them to take customers from service registration (via the Internet) to reception of a bill. The right software solution was required for VoIP services, able to integrate with the chosen residential VoIP service platform from NetCentrex, the MyCall® solution. As Highdeal Transactive is based on Java/XML, it was quickly integrated into the project within just 6 months (beginning in June 2004 and launched on January 1 2005).

"We had the network infrastructure but not an IT system. We therefore needed a made to measure solution which responded to our exact needs, in the context of a tight budget and tight time frame. The ability to customize offers, the flexibility, ease of use and the high performance of Highdeal Transactive tipped the scales heavily in favor of this product" said Eric Le Bihan, Managing Director of Parla.it.
