PARIS -- World Wide Packets, a leading provider of Carrier Ethernet solutions, today announced the LightningEdge 3300 (LE-3300) Service Aggregation Switch. Powered by the proven LightningEdge Operating System (LE-OS), the LE-3300 aggregates and delivers Carrier Ethernet services, offering vast flexibility in a single, easy to manage platform.

The LE-3300 is purpose built using a service-oriented architecture that mitigates the limitations of traditional Ethernet switch architectures. It is equipped with robust carrier-class attributes including comprehensive Hierarchical Quality of Service (H-QoS), fully programmable distributed switching architecture, and a redundant hardware design with service cards ranging from 10 Gigabit Ethernet to high density Gigabit Ethernet. Built in a compact form factor, the LE-3300 is ideally suited for deployment at first and second tier aggregation points where Carrier Ethernet service transport and handoff to the core network is required.
