PARIS and ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Falcon IP/Complete continues to expand deployment of complete IPTV systems from Thomson (Euronext Paris: 18453; NYSE: TMS), the worldwide leader in video solutions, with regional telecoms operators in the US. The latest customer win concerns GTel Teleconnection, who has selected a complete IPTV solution from Falcon IP/Complete, featuring video head ends, video service platforms and consumer premises equipment from Thomson.

GTel Teleconnection, an independent local telephone provider based in Columbia County NY, plans to launch an extensive IPTV service offering to its customers in the first half of 2009. The package will include over 200 HD and SD channels with enhanced features such as parental control.

Falcon IP/Complete, a leading US telecommunications integrator, is providing full consulting, integration and support services using turnkey IPTV systems from Thomson. These include Thomson’s ViBE MPEG-4 encoders from its video head end range, SmartVision service management platforms with IP set top boxes and DSL gateways for consumer premises.

“Research with our customers has shown that they want a feature-rich, high quality IPTV service. The advanced solution made possible by Falcon IP/Complete and Thomson means that even as a local telecom operator, we will be able to rival the services of any of our competitors in terms of quality, choice and interactivity” said Bruce Bohnsack, President of GTel.
