GLOBALCOMM: Call for News

Light Reading will once again be providing swarming coverage to one of the industry's largest tradeshows when GLOBALCOMM™ 2006 hits Chicago early next month. We're already scouring the earth for potential stories and interview opportunities, and we're asking readers for some help.

In addition to running our all-powerful Website, Light Reading will be collaborating with the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) and CMP Media LLC to produce the GLOBALCOMM Daily, a newspaper to be delivered at the show. We'll also be providing video coverage via our broadcast-quality online video channel, LRTV.

Whether you have product news, a story tip, or interview request, now's the time to contact us about your activites at GLOBALCOMM. Below is the information on how and where to contact us regarding GLOBALCOMM news events:

Pre-show product news releases
The GLOBALCOMM Daily will be providing coverage of corporate product announcements. The product section is being put together ahead of the show and has a deadline of May 12. If you have product releases to announce at the show that you would like included in the product section, please send them to us.

What: Product news releases (photos may be included)
Send to: David McGee, CMP Media
Email: [email protected]
Deadline: May 12

Shows news & meeting requests
Light Reading editors will be scouting out news ahead of the show, in addition to roaming the GLOBALCOMM event. If you would like to set up a pre-show briefing, or a meeting with an editor at the show, now's the time to do it.

What: Product briefings and meeting requests
Send to: Light Reading editors
Email: [email protected]
Deadline: June 2

LRTV interviews
LRTV will be producing many segments at the show. We'll be interviewing the leaders of the industry, and we're currently open to interview requests. We'll be primarily sticking to C-level executives at leading companies, so no product-level pitches, please.

re: GLOBALCOMM: Call for News I will be at Globalcomm.
Please check with my sychophant entourage for a good time to interview me.

Make sure you bring the appropriate gratuitous gift and a bowl of red M&M's chilled to 42 degrees.

re: GLOBALCOMM: Call for News If you need a hotel room for Globalcomm, I've got a non-cancellable, prepaid room at the Hyatt Regency downtown that is reserved for June 3rd for 6 nights. There is a shuttle that runs to McCormick Place, which is approximately 3 miles from the hotel. You may check in later or leave earlier but regardless, the total net for the room is $507 for all nights. This fee includes the room fee and room tax but does not include parking if you are bringing a car and of course does not include any incidentals.

Currently, this hotel is sold out for the Globalcomm dates, but rooms, when available, were "starting" at $229 a night.

You will be required to pre-pay for the room and I will switch the reservation into your name when payment is received.

If you are interested, please email [email protected] or call me directly at

Regards,

Robert
