LONDON -- Global Crossing (NASDAQ: GLBC) announced today that it has signed a commercial agreement to provide Telkom SA Limited (NYSE and JSE: TKG), the leading communications provider in South Africa, with International Private Line services to London, Amsterdam, New York and Washington, D.C. The reach and capabilities of Global Crossing's worldwide network will enable Telkom SA to better serve their customers' international requirements.

Telkom SA provides business and residential fixed-line telephony, Internet, e-commerce, data communications, satellite services and value-added network services to its customer base in South Africa. The group also provides mobile communications services through a joint venture, Vodacom, a company incorporated in the Republic of South Africa. The telecommunications industry in South Africa is thriving and is expected to show even more vigorous growth in the new regulatory environment.
