Satellite access will play a key role going forward in reaching distant locations more quickly than fiber can, providing access and wireless backhaul, enabling disaster recovery and backup and connecting mobile sites including cruise and shipping vessels, airplanes and more, says SES CEO John-Paul Hemingway. That's why SES is out to change the perception of satellite companies and to push for orchestration and automation to be done across terrestrial and satellite networks, using industry standards such as those set by MEF. ![]() Related Stories
