FREMONT, Calif. -- Actelis Networks®, a leading supplier of solutions that enable carrier-grade, broadband services over local loop copper, today announced that its MetaLIGHT® 100E broadband-over-copper solution has been deployed by Mark-E, a major German utility organization. The solution was sold, and will be serviced, by Actelis’ German partner, Quante Networks, a full service telecommunications equipment and services provider based in Hanover, Germany.

Mark-E is a regional utility company, servicing multiple corporate sites throughout their service area, all of which require high-speed, broadband to allow transporting of high-quality voice and video over the network. Before selecting Actelis, Mark-E examined multiple broadband solutions including fiber optics. Although fiber would have provided the performance they needed, it was rejected because of the high economic impact and logistical challenges of deploying a fiber network. They chose the MetaLIGHT 100E solution because it could be deployed immediately with very low capital expenditures by utilizing their existing copper infrastructure. In addition to its low deployment costs, it provided the high-quality bandwidth they needed and could be easily scaled beyond 60 Mbps.
