Crosstown Traffic

NOON -- Back on the road. Back to California. Back to traffic jams:

  • The first traffic jam occurs before you even get your car. Woe is the soul who forgets to make an express "Gold" or "Emerald" service car rental at SFO and has to wait in the excruciating hour-long car rental lines. What's the deal with Enterprise Car Rental, where the line is 20 people long and there is only one attendant?

  • California irony: A Ferrari stuck in traffic on Highway 101, going 5 MPH.

  • More California irony: A traffic jam of Porsche Carreras and BMWs on Sand Hill Road. Top speed: 10 MPH.

Informal result of parking lot scan of various VC outfits on Sand Hill Road: BMWs lead other models by a ratio of at least 5-to-1.
