BASINGSTOKE, U.K. -- Fibernet Group plc, the bespoke network service provider today announced the award of a substantial contract by Fujitsu Services.

The dedicated infrastructure will enable Fujitsu Services to provide managed services to organisations requiring business critical services such as Business Continuity and Storage Area Networking (SAN). 24/7/365 performance for large organisations' core systems, coupled with growing concerns for the need to secure sensitive company data has made both SAN technology and Business Continuity a key consideration for the majority of larger businesses.

David Bigley, Account Director for Fujitsu said, "We were extremely impressed with Fibernet's technical knowledge and management skills. The network provider's profound understanding of the intricacies of both civil engineering and optical network design were outstanding to witness." He continued, "First phases of the project have progressed on time, and to budget, and we have no doubt that the completion of this project will proceed in the same manner."

Charles McGregor, Chief Executive of Fibernet said, "We were delighted to be awarded this bespoke optical network contract by Fujitsu giving us the opportunity to further demonstrate our strengths in this area. Large telecommunication service companies such as Fujitsu have seen a marked step up in demand for business continuity and storage services as large organisations extend the reach of their storage area networks to remote offices, enabling them to consolidate their network storage on an Enterprise wide basis - reducing their costs and improving both scalability and data security."
