Frontier Buffaloes Social Media

Since this is an important telecom business news site, it's important to get the news out there, but sometimes you just want to have fun.

So having written the serious story about Frontier Communications Corp. (NYSE: FTR), it's time to have a little fun. (See Frontier Pursues Broader Business Footprint.)

Meet Frank the Buffalo, also known as the Frontier spokesman.

Frontier's Friendly Frank

Frank has his own Facebook page and his own YouTube videos, which you can see here. His full name is Francis A. Buffalo. (I know that because we are Facebook Friends.)

He isn't as much of a TV presence, in part because Frontier discovered that his early slogan ("You Can't Get BS From A Buffalo") doesn't test well with some of its audience -- I'm assuming those who take themselves a bit too seriously.

But Frank remain a social media presence for Frontier and continues to advance a few important values. For one thing, he's a solidly American symbol. One of his parent company's promises is keeping its customer service onshore and even providing outsourced customer service to companies such as Intuit, keeping those jobs in the US, as well.

And then there's that trust factor. If you can't trust a talking buffalo, then the world is truly a sad place.

Re: Kangaroo courting It must be aimed at the old lady demographic - I think it's cute. And that's not a real gerbil, it's an grumpy old dad in a very small gerbil suit.

Re: Kangaroo courting Must be, but I'm not in that demographic. That commercial is really upsetting. I mean, is the gerbil supposed to be their dad? And, what's that actress who always plays the nameless slutty best friend in movies doing in it?

Re: Kangaroo courting Sprint is now using a gerbil in its ads. Subliminal advertising targeting a very specific demographic?

Re: Calling BS Note to self: Try to avoid providing ammo for Mitch's pun gun.

Re: Calling BS I liked that pun so much I made the latest haiku out of it.

Re: Kangaroo courting Definitely, and we can invite all the "spirit animals" from the mobile security conference too: http://www.lightreading.com/mobile/mobile-security/naming-mobile-securitys-spirit-animal/a/d-id/706879

Kangaroo courting Maybe the demo floor at the Big Telecom Event should include a petting zoo of telecom industry spokes-animals.

Re: Calling BS Were there more objections to this or Dish's baby Kangaroo?

Re: Calling BS Karl,

I think it was "older" folks who objected.
