Former Cisco VP Volpi Becomes VC
Joost announced last week that Volpi would step down from his job as CEO as part of a restructuring that reduced headcount dramatically, while shifting the company's focus from running an ad-supported online video site to selling its technology as a white-label video platform.
Now it's been announced that Volpi will join Index Ventures as a partner in the firm. While Index was one of the investors in Joost, as part of the company's $45 million funding round, the firm is perhaps better known for its more successful investments in MySQL AB and Skype Ltd.
