LONDON -- FlexLight Networks™, the optical network access pioneer delivering the industry’s first Gigabit Passive Optical Networking (GPON) solution for the first mile, announces the appointment of Joe Fragoso as VP of its EMEA operations, based at the company’s London office.

Fragoso previously served in demanding roles as managing director EMEA at AirFiber, and VP of international sales EMEA at Terabeam. In total Fragoso brings more than 20 years experience to FlexLight, throughout which he refined his knowledge of the industry through the successful management of a number of global accounts. Fragoso’s career hallmarks a seasoned ability to drive sales and to adapt to the changing times within the telecommunications industry.

“I am looking forward to propelling FlexLight’s sales strategy across EMEA, and helping to develop the company as a global leader in delivering premier telecommunications technology to carriers and service providers,” said Fragoso. “My appointment represents a motivating and exciting challenge in a highly competitive environment.”

During his time with AirFiber, Fragoso was responsible for securing the first revenue generation for the company’s OptiMesh equipment. Prior to running the EMEA sales operation at Terabeam, Fragoso was business development manager for Centigram, a supplier of enhanced services platforms for carriers. He also held several roles with Ericsson, including Concert business manager, where he was responsible for developing the Concert business on a global basis and winning the tender for what became the Concert voice network (Project Cyclone) and developing it into an IN network. His systems and development engineering skills were refined early in his career whilst at Marconi Communications Systems, and throughout his career Fragoso has participated in public speaking opportunities at industry events and panel discussions.

“Joe will be a huge asset to FlexLight,” said Gary Lee, CEO, FlexLight Networks™. “During his time with AirFiber he forged strong relationships with key European operators and developed supporting sales channels and relationships with services companies. He is now providing FlexLight with access to that network, combined with highly developed technical ability and sales expertise. We are delighted to have him join us.”
