ROME -- FLAG Telecom, a leading provider of international wholesale network transport and communications services, today announced the opening of a new international gateway in Milan. This new network node will provide FLAG customers in Italy with another local point of access to a range of advanced services that provide bandwidth, IP and Internet coverage across four continents.

Antonio Cardone, head of FLAG Telecom’s operation in Italy said: “Access to the FLAG network has been available in Italy for more than five years via our point of presence in Palermo, meeting the bandwidth and data communication requirements of a number of major customers, including Italy’s two main carriers. The opening of the new node in Milan represents a significant expansion of the range of services available to our customers, enabling us to address the global connectivity needs of a broader customer base with a wider range of bandwidth and IP services; customers such as Internet service providers, content providers and other broadband operators.”
