Finisar elevates Dick Woodrow from VP of sales and marketing to president and chief operating officer

SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Finisar Corporation (Nasdaq:FNSR), a technology leader in gigabit fiber optic solutions for high-speed data networks, today reported that Dick Woodrow, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, has been promoted to President and Chief Operating Officer. In this new position, Mr. Woodrow will assume responsibility for all optics engineering, manufacturing, sales and marketing activities and will continue to report to Jerry Rawls, Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Woodrow joined Finisar in June 1998 as Sales and Marketing Manager for Optics and has served as Vice President, Sales and Marketing since November 2000. Mr. Woodrow has more than 36 years of experience in sales, marketing, and product management in an industrial high-tech environment. Prior to joining Finisar, Mr. Woodrow was the North American Sales Manager for the Electronics Division of Raychem Corporation. He has also held various other sales, marketing, and product management positions during his tenure at Raychem, IBM, and American Hospital Supply. Mr. Woodrow holds a B.A. in Mathematics from Rutgers University. "The challenge ahead of us is clear," said Mr. Woodrow. "Finisar must continue to grow sales revenues in a difficult economic environment just as we have done for the previous four quarters.
