Arris, Cedar Point Demo

SUWANEE, Ga. -- ARRIS (Nasdaq:ARRS) and Cedar Point Communications today announced that they will jointly demonstrate interoperability of several Business Services deployment solutions for cable operators at the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) Business Services Symposium in Chicago, October 17-18.

The demonstration will exhibit a variety of working solutions to deliver voice and high-speed data service to small to medium sized businesses by combining the ARRIS headend and customer premises devices with the Cedar Point SafariC3™ Multimedia Switching System. The ARRIS equipment to be interoperated with the Safari C3 includes the ARRIS Cadant® C3™ CMTS, the ARRIS Touchstone® TM508 and TM512 Multi-line Embedded Multimedia Terminal Adapters (E-MTAs). All ARRIS Touchstone Telephony Modems support a wide variety of Customized Local Area Signaling Surface (CLASS) features and the SIP software provides Quality of Service (QoS) consistent with PacketCable™ 2.0 methods based on an operator’s SIP Proxy server selection. The new line of T1/E1 MTAs works with the ARRIS CSA9000 T1/E1 aggregator, the CSM470 MTA and the CSG440 gateway providing a variety of DOCSIS® and non-DOCSIS Fiber CPE.
