August 2, 2007
LANHAM, Md. -- Group 1 Software, Inc., a Pitney Bowes Company (NYSE: PBI - News), today announced that Telecom Egypt has selected Group 1 Software as its Customer Communication Management (CCM) solutions provider of choice to enhance the customer billing process.
Group 1 Software will be implementing a suite of CCM components to enable Telecom Egypt to deliver convergent billing (single bill for customers who use different services, replacing multiple bill production) and e-billing to the company's extensive customer base. The solution includes: DOC1® Series 5, e2(TM) Vault, e2(TM) Service, e2(TM) OAM, OpenEDMS(TM), and Content Author. Additionally, the software will be interfacing with the Geneva billing system to create multi-lingual bills in Arabic and English using Group 1 Software's translation module.
With more than 10.8 million customers, Telecom Egypt is the country's leading telecommunications provider and also the largest provider of fixed-line services in the Middle East. It is the only company in Egypt that is able to offer the full range of fixed-line and retail telecommunications services, and is the sole provider of wholesale telecommunications services.
Andrew Greenyer, VP International Marketing at Group 1 Software comments, "As well as the immediate print and postal efficiencies that come with convergent and online billing, the positive environmental impact of reduced paper wastage has been a driving force behind this project.
"The new technology will provide Telecom Egypt's customers with greater choice when it comes to their billing preferences, an important factor in continuing to deliver high standards of customer service. For those high-value customers, it also provides the company with additional opportunities to include targeted messages on customer communications."
