BLACKBURN, U.K. -- Ryder Systems has been awarded a contract by Opal Telecom, the business-to-business telecom division of The Carphone Warehouse, to supply an end-to-end bill management solution. The service will manage all elements of the billing process, including bill design and production, via print and email with management reports, plus a comprehensive online bill analysis and reporting solution.

Opal’s new billing solution is aimed at corporate and SME customers and will be instrumental in building loyalty and reducing customer churn. By reducing the number of paper-based bills and providing customers with transparent billing information, Opal will also benefit from reducing costs associated with bill production, administration and distribution.

As part of the solution, bill analysis will be available to Opal customers for the first time. Management reports, summarising trends and usage will be emailed along with electronic copies of the bill, typically for light users, whilst an interactive analysis solution will provide a range of standard reports, along with a report wizard that allows businesses to create reports tailored to their own requirements, including the ability to allocate costs to a defined company structure.

Phil Haslam, Customer Operations Director, Opal Telecom comments: “Ryder Systems has proven itself to be a leading player in the bill management arena. By utilising its solutions we will be able to provide our customers with a tool to analyse their telephony usage through easily understandable reporting delivered directly by email to customers, or via our online web portal. In the competitive Telco market, we need to be able to offer a service with real value to all our customers and this solution from Ryder Systems will help us deliver this.”

Ryder Systems’ solution is complimentary to Opal telecom’s existing billing system provided by Martin Dawes Systems, enabling Opal to offer a comprehensive bill analysis solution and effective bill delivery in a variety of formats to all its customers.

Andy Wilson, Sales and Marketing Director, Ryder Systems, concluded: “Ryder Systems’ solution will streamline Opal’s billing process and, by providing business customers with detailed information on how phones are utilised, improved customer satisfaction. Following a successful pilot, Opal Telecom has already received excellent feedback from its customers.”
