AboveNet announced an agreement with Paxio for optical network facilities in the San Francisco Bay Area

NEW YORK -- AboveNet, Inc, a leading provider of fiber based connectivity solutions for business and carriers, announced an agreement with PAXIO Inc. of Anaheim, California for optical network facilities in the San Francisco Bay Area. AboveNet's network facilities throughout the San Francisco Bay Area incorporate key business locations, data centers, carrier hotels, and IP PoPs providing PAXIO a greater footprint and more opportunities to serve new residential communities and business centers. The combination of last mile services from PAXIO and AboveNet's metro network results in a high performance end-to-end network infrastructure.
PAXIO has developed an industry leading open architecture, standards based, FTTH (Fiber to the Home) network supporting highly desirable symmetrical speed Internet access and VoIP services with video planned for later this year. PAXIO delivers Internet connectivity at speeds from 1 megabit to 1 gigabit per second to residential subscribers in select communities throughout the Bay Area. PAXIO's fiber business services also are available in Brentwood, Emeryville, Mountain View, Oakland, San Jose, Santa Clara and Sunnyvale. The completion of a complete end-to-end fiber network creates community services second to none.
