SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Fibera, Inc., a provider of innovative wavelength stabilization and management solutions, today announced that it has achieved a major milestone representing both an acknowledgement of the company’s engineering excellence and a boost for the marketability of one of the company’s principal products. The Fibera 50GHz Multi-Channel Wavelength Locker (MCWL) has passed the stringent series of reliability tests needed to achieve Telcordia (formerly Bellcore) Group Requirements (GR)-1221-CORE certification for passive optical components. To meet Telcordia criteria, the Fibera 50GHz unit was required to pass a number of tests, including damp heat, repetitive temperature cycling, mechanical shock and vibration, and thermal aging that are conducted to accelerate the adverse effects of harsh environments on the component’s lifetime. The achievement is significant because Telcordia GR-1221 is an internationally recognized, objective, third-party validation of the industry’s highest level of reliability.“Fibera has joined a select group of component manufacturers that have qualified as having met the rigorous mechanical and environmental protocols specified by Telcordia for optical component reliability,” said John Tsai, president, Fibera, Inc. “This places Fibera in the upper echelon of optical component manufacturers and positions us very well to become a major supplier to companies that are shaping the new telecommunications infrastructure.”Fibera Inc.
