SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Allegro Networks, a newly formed company developing an innovative router technology for enhanced network capability, today announced that it has named telecommunications and technology industry veteran Dave House as its new chairman, president and chief executive officer. House, former chief executive officer of Bay Networks, president of Nortel Networks and one of the key architects of microprocessor development and marketing at Intel, assumes his new position immediately. Founded in 2000, Allegro Networks is developing a new router platform designed to offer service providers an alternative to capital-intensive infrastructure build-out strategies.

House was one of the key drivers behind Intel's remarkable success - creating and overseeing the introduction of the highly regarded "Intel Inside" campaign - and orchestrated the resurgence of Bay Networks and its integration with Nortel Networks, where he served as President. "Dave House is the ideal individual to accelerate Allegro Network's growth and take our unique concept to market," said P.J. Singh, one of the founders and acting-CEO of Allegro Networks who will serve as chief technology officer. "Having been at the forefront of some of the biggest transformations in the technology and networking industries, Dave's guidance will be invaluable as we prepare to rollout our innovative platform that will rapidly enable service providers to reduce infrastructure investment, offer enhanced services and improve returns on investment and profitability."
