Vodafone's CEO has 45 million reasons to sit tight

8:45 AM -- So just how much is a CEO worth?

According to the team at the U.K.'s Sunday Times, Vodafone Group plc (NYSE: VOD) top dog Arun Sarin could be sitting on stock options worth up to £45 million (US$89.3 million) if he retains the CEO post until at least mid-2009.

Vodafone's share price currently stands at 189.4 pence on the London Stock Exchange , up nearly 28 percent from 148.25 pence a year ago.
