Get Carter!

7:45 AM -- Stephen Carter, the former head of British cable operator NTL and more recently the head honcho at British regulator Ofcom , has had his first real taste of British politics, only days after joining the Prime Minister's strategy team. (See Carter Goes to Downing Street.)

His seat, as the coordinator of Gordon Brown's policy, research, and communications strategy, was hardly lukewarm before his name was linked by the U.K.'s weekend newspapers with alleged financial scandal during his days at NTL, now Virgin Media Inc. (Nasdaq: VMED).
