FT's CEO Under Pressure

Ray Le Maistre

8:10 AM -- France Telecom CEO Didier Lombard is under pressure to hand over the reins to his appointed successor soon, so that the carrier can start a new chapter afresh, according to the Financial Times. (See France Telecom Names CEO Elect.)

The carrier is due for a top team shakeup that will coincide with the unveiling of a large new company project, but Lombard is due to be the architect, and not a victim, of that executive revamp. (See Shakeup at France Telecom.) Lombard has been under intense scrutiny since last summer, when reports of low staff morale and employee suicides first became public.
