EC Hits Back
Earlier this week British telecom watchdog Ofcom fired off a verbal missive aimed at the European Commission 's proposal for a centralized European body to help regulate telecom matters in the European Union's member states. (See Ofcom Opposes Euro FCC.)
Now Martin Selmayr, spokesman for EC telecom commissioner Viviane Reding, has questioned the independence of national regulators and reportedly taken a sideswipe at the European Regulators Group (ERG) . See this report from AFX for the details.
