All Hail the Terminators!
In Reding's case that's down to her no-nonsense, long-standing campaign to cut service fees for European consumers. The latest run-in she's had with the continent's mobile operators has been over termination fees, which Reding wants to see cut by a whopping 70 percent. Such a cut, along with other moves the carriers don't like, will, she believes, make life cheaper for Europe's mobile phone users. (See Carriers Under Siege From EC and Reding's Roaming Rampage .)
As you may well understand, the operators aren't too happy, and they went mob-handed today to ask for some concessions, such as a longer time period within which to reduce their fees.
But it seems their pleas came to nothing. Check out this Reuters report to find out what happened.
