re: Who Makes What: Optical Components 2004 Whoever wrote "BKHM remains active dumbass" good choice of wording? If you mean bookham is an active dumbass then your phrase is correct.

re: Who Makes What: Optical Components 2004 Dear Balet

We are interested.

re: Who Makes What: Optical Components 2004 It's been only half a year from my previous post. OK, let me enquire.
Who are you by the way? Not on of those large port count switch companies, such as Polatis, Glimmerglass or Calient, I hope?

re: Who Makes What: Optical Components 2004 The company has gone out of business completely 2-3 weeks ago.

re: Who Makes What: Optical Components 2004 I wonder how Lightreading can deal with some post raters from the known country, who just routinely go through the posts and rate people saying somehting wrong about their company or good about their competitor company.

Look at the post 41. A poor "smart" marketing guy from WTD made a free announcement about triplexers, and what he got from other similar companies? Bad rating.

re: Who Makes What: Optical Components 2004 There are still 4 people selling stuff. If you are in PLC business hurry up, and you might get something cheap.

Unfortunately, Metrophotonics is a typical example of a good idea company with a strong technical team, grossly missmanaged at exec levels and the BOD.

re: Who Makes What: Optical Components 2004 -Avanex Corp. doe NOT make Optical Performance Monitors(OPm/OCM/OCPM), Nor does -Oplink.

-JDSU OEMs BaySpec's

-Dowslake does NOT make OPM/OCPM any longer

-DuPont Photonics Technologies Inc. Never heard of they EVER made OPM/OCM/OCPM, they may have claimed they could do anything in the past.

-Santec is only for power monitor, single channel by single channel

-Metrophotonics is out of business

Sorry to mess up your list to a very 'short' list!

re: Who Makes What: Optical Components 2004 Agilent is, or was, making an optical "bubble" switch based on the HP bubble jet printer technology. Is it still alive? Or did it flop when they noticed they had to go to Walmart for an overpriced ink cartridge every 2 months?
