Who Makes What: Ethernet/IP Equipment 2007

The convergence of networks onto IP, a topic that's been near to Light Reading's heart for years, is finally happening. Given that state of things, we figured it was high time to give Ethernet and IP the Who Makes What treatment.

This report is a taxonomy of the equipment vendors focusing on Ethernet switch/routers and IP routers. Despite the dominance of Cisco Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: CSCO) on both sides, there's a healthy set of companies out there offering competitive products. Ethernet, in particular, has become a hot topic among established vendors and a source of business plans for startups.

As usual, we're turning to you, the readers, to help complete the picture.

This report is just a starting point. If we've missed a company or bypassed a product line, don't be shy – let us know at [email protected], and be sure to specify which product categories you have in mind.
