PARIS -- Netcentrex , the leading enabler of converged voice-video-data networks and next-generation services, and Voljatel telekomunikacije d.d., Slovenia’s leading alternative telecommunication provider and Internet service supplier, announced today that Voljatel has chosen Netcentrex solutions for the launch of new residential and business Voice over IP (VoIP) services. Voljatel will deliver the services using the MyCall ® Residential Services suite and the Business Services suite which are deployed on top of the CCS™ telephony application server platform.

Voljatel was founded in 2000 to provide alternative fixed communications services, following the liberalization of the telecommunication market in Slovenia. The company was the first to market pay-as-you-go, dial-up Internet services, called VOLJA, in 2001. Today Voljatel has over 100,000 active dial-up users that represent around 45% of market share, approximately 80% of dial-up traffic and the largest customer base in Slovenia.

Following the successful launch of the VOLJ ADSL broadband services earlier this year, Voljatel is now building its own national telecommunication network. The company has deployed Netcentrex residential and business services suites on top of the CCS application softswitch in this network, and launched 2 new service packages called VOLJADSL plus and VOLJA CABLE plus. The services enable customers to make calls in national and international fixed and mobile networks via the Internet Protocol (IP). IP telephony services are also available to customers over broadband Internet access provided by other ISPs using Voljatel’s Standard service.

Voljatel, who has signed interconnection agreements with the national operator and the three national mobile operators in Slovenia, has already started connecting customers to its IP telephony services. “Thanks to our interconnection agreements and IP technology, we can offer significantly reduced rates for calls to international and national fixed and mobile networks ” said Voljatel’s CEO,Wilhelm Reichmann. “The Netcentrex solutions have enabled us to deploy a high-performance, cost effective system in record time and launch attractive, innovative communication bundles for both residential and business customers that are the first of their kind on the Slovenian market. Thanks to high quality services, we can guarantee customer satisfaction while enabling subscribers to benefit from innovative features at highly competitive rates.”

“Voljatel has already built a strong image as a telecoms innovator in Slovenia by combining high technical expertise with a strong sense of customer needs,” states Boris Dezier, General Manager for Central and Eastern Europe at Netcentrex . “The Slovenian market is very open to new technologies and services following the deregulation of the market, and has high potential for rapid service adoption. Netcentrex is delighted to have been chosen by Voljatel for such an ambitious project.”
