PALO ALTO, Calif. -- HP today announced that VIVACOM Bulgaria is using HP solutions and expertise to build a next-generation intelligent network (NGIN) that can increase efficiency and deliver a better, more personalized experience for more than 600,000 prepaid and virtual private network customers.

VIVACOM is a major telecommunications provider in Bulgaria, offering a range of services in fixed and mobile voice, broadband data and television. By moving to NGIN, which includes support for voice-over-Internet Protocol (VOIP)-based applications, VIVACOM strengthens existing services and opens the way to future services that take advantage of real-time capabilities in the network.

Working with VIVACOM, HP consolidated its different networks at the service layer, using the standards-based HP NGIN solution. With a single platform linking the network service layers in both core network and IT domains, VIVACOM can control all services – voice, data and messaging – in real time, and manage prepaid billing.
