ATLANTA -- Verso Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: VRSO - News), a global provider of next generation network solutions, today announces the launch of its Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Gateways, a versatile Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) gateway that includes an integrated, full-featured IP router. Gateway models include the NetPerformer SDM-9220GW, SDM-9230GW, and the SDM-9210GW which support between one (1) and six (6) T1/E1 digital interfaces and provide a call capacity between fifteen (15) and one hundred and twenty (120) voice channels.

The gateway solutions enable carriers to extend their VoIP offerings to the enterprise markets. A device installed at the customer's premise enables an enterprise to leverage a legacy PBX system to connect with a next generation network (NGN) solution. This capability enables a customer to preserve legacy investments to update and upgrade their network without reinvesting in new network equipment. In addition, enterprises can achieve further savings by leveraging existing IP backbones to enable no-cost calling between offices, greatly reducing long distance toll expenses.

"This is a strong niche solution that addresses the market demands of carriers and enterprises alike, designed to work seamlessly on wireless, wireline, satellite and IP networks to interconnect legacy systems and the PSTN," said Monty Bannerman, chief executive officer, Verso Technologies. "The demand and growth for SIP gateways is a thriving business for carriers and enterprises alike, it is one opportunity that Verso and our award winning NetPerformer solution are prepared to capture," added Bannerman.
