PARIS -- Netcentrex , the leading enabler of converged voice-video-data networks and next-generation services, and T-2, the first company to offer VDSL Internet access and triple play services in Slovenia, announced today that T-2 uses Netcentrex solutions for its IP-based communications management and delivery.

T-2 launched services on Slovenia’s residential and corporate communications markets in October 2005, using Netcentrex’ MyCall Residential Services suite and Business Services suite. The services run on the CCS application softswitch platform which is connected to an SMC SS7 signalling and media controller to ensure call control between the legacy and IP networks. The solutions are IMS compliant, providing T-2 with a future proof platform that will evolve with communication technologies over the long term.

Slovenia’s leading Next-Generation Network (NGN) integrator, Smart Com, is working closely with Netcentrex for the solution deployment and also supplies technical support.

T-2, a Maribor-based company owned by financial firm Zvon Ena Holding, aims to gain 25% market share and become Slovenia’s leading alternative service provider over the next few years. To reach this goal, T-2 needed a very high value offering. So the company deployed triple play services combining traditional Internet access with fixed telephony, video communication and 120-channel digital television using new very high speed digital subscriber line (VDSL) technologies to ensure quality of access and delivery.

"We are convinced that the combination of high quality telephony, video, TV and Internet services will create the subscriber demand in line with our revenue targets,” states T-2's managing director, Matevz Turk. “We chose Netcentrex for our deployment because the solutions integrated seamlessly into our existing network infrastructure and enabled T-2 to deploy IMS compliant, carrier class IP telephony for both residential and corporate services on the same platform. The solutions meet all legal and regulatory requirements and can be scaled up to meet increasing subscriber demand. They also provide a strong foundation on which to evolve next-generation multimedia services such as Video-on-Demand and personal video telephony. On-site integration and technical support from Smart Com was also an important factor in our decision. "

Boris Dezier, General Manager for Central and Eastern Europe at Netcentrex , comments, “The rapid growth of the Slovenian communication market, has made it essential for service providers to differentiate their offerings and provide added value in order to remain competitive and increase market share. T-2 understands consumer needs and how to apply new technologies to meet those needs. Netcentrex is delighted to have been chosen by T-2 and looks forward to moving T-2’s value proposition a step further through fixed mobile platforms.”

“The T-2 deployment is a good example of how the Netcentrex-Smart Com partnership can deliver IMS compliant, carrier grade solutions with long-term value that enable Slovenian service providers to benefit from all the advantages of converged communications,” states Miro Štravs, General Manager at Smart Com.
