GAITHERSBURG, Md. -- Multimedia Telephony (MMTel) willestablish global standards for fixed, mobile and cable operators on themigration path to an all-IP network and the delivery of RichCommunications Services, according to BroadSoft Inc., a leading providerof VoIP application software. BroadSoft's IMS BroadWorks(r) VoIPapplication platform is now MMTel compliant, and enables operators torealize immediate revenue streams by taking a service-led approach tonetwork transformation.

As operators migrate service offerings away from Class 5 local exchangeswitches and toward IP Multimedia Subsystem core networks andapplication servers, BroadSoft's MMTel solution allows operators toimmediately deploy advanced voice and video services integrated withpresence, messaging and contact solutions for the enterprise andresidential markets. MMTel also lays the groundwork for the delivery ofimproved user experiences across all devices through Rich CommunicationsServices.

Backed by industry standards bodies including ETSI and the 3GPP, MMTelis an end-to-end network solution that enables advanced multimediaservices and content to be delivered over broadband networks. MMTelopens up the ability for carriers to more quickly deploy and deliver acomplete set of personal and group services. MMTel defines standardprovisioning interfaces for services to allow a carrier to deploy theseservices with minimal impact to back office systems or conflicts withvendor technology.
