PHOENIX -- BroadSoft, Inc., a leading provider of VoIP application software, today announced at the BroadSoft Connections 2006 Executive Users Conference the introduction of BroadWorks(R) Client Management System (CMS), a client services delivery platform and provisioning tool that helps resolve the integration problems posed by today's proprietary and vendor-specific solutions by providing multi-vendor support and scalability for millions of end points.

BroadWorks CMS spans traditional domains and delivers plug-and-play activation, including client configuration management, firmware upgrades and monitoring, to enable service providers to more efficiently operate and deliver superior service to their end-users. The service provider gains consistency and visibility of the clients connected to its network. This enables the provider to better provision and manage services, dramatically lower "truck rolls," and scale faster and more efficiently to offer new services quickly and drive business growth -- all with a more satisfied end-user. Administrators utilize BroadWorks CMS to provision, access and manage variable features built into the terminals, such as line key assignments, programmable softkeys, and more, via an intuitive and user-friendly interface.

BroadWorks CMS supports leading manufacturers and models of terminals and handsets as "plug-in" modules, and can add new vendors and models with new plug-ins quickly as demand warrants.Based on open standards interfaces and designed to operate seamlessly in an IP Multimedia System (IMS) environment, BroadWorks CMS handles a broad set of functions, including:

  • Automating deployment of soft clients, mobile phones, etc.

  • Management of client profiles for equipment supplied by multiple manufacturers

  • Matching user templates to phones

  • Generating client configuration and managing firmware

  • Managing user profiles

  • Monitoring clients

"BroadSoft is continuously addressing the needs of service providers as they grapple with the complexities of today's converged networks," said Scott Hoffpauir, chief technical officer for BroadSoft. "Previously, with the BroadWorks application platform, we have focused primarily on the network environment. Now, with BroadWorks CMS, we are helping service providers directly address integration issues and manage and service terminals, paving the way for the addition of new services and a larger market share."BroadWorks CMS has been developed by Netria, a joint venture between BroadSoft and Vonair, a carrier-class multimedia communications software company. The system will be available through BroadSoft later this year.
