HUNTSVILLE, Ala. and Las Vegas -- ADTRAN®, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADTN - News), a leading supplier of networking and communications solutions, and MetaSwitch, the leader in reliable, high-quality carrier IP communications solutions, today announced at the MetaSwitch Forum 2009 in Las Vegas, Nev., that ADTRAN’s Total Access® 5000 Multiservice Access and Aggregation Platform and Total Access 300 Series Optical Network Terminals (ONTs) fully support Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) for interoperation with the MetaSwitch call agent and media gateway. These new capabilities provide customers with proven TDM interoperability, offering the ability to support existing networks, as well as advanced Voice over IP (VoIP) and IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) architectures. These solutions join a growing list of ADTRAN/MetaSwitch-interoperable solutions, which includes ADTRAN’s industry-leading family of IP Business Gateway and IP PBX solutions. Together, these industry-leading products are a powerful combination that will enable carriers to expand services more broadly across the network as they look to leverage federal funding as part of the recent Broadband Stimulus package.

“Knowing that solutions are interoperable before they are installed brings great peace of mind as we are rolling out new services,” said Jason Wing, operations manager, BayRing Communications. “The ADTRAN/MetaSwitch solution has worked flawlessly. Their proven interoperability has simplified and accelerated our service deployment.”
