Vodafone Mulls T-Mobile Bid

8:45 AM -- Summer's hot here in the U.K. and so is the talk of mobile M&A.

The Financial Times reports that Vodafone Group plc (NYSE: VOD) is sizing up T-Mobile (UK) for a potential bid or joint venture. A combination of the two operators would create an operator with some 40 percent market share, surpassing the market's current leader, Telefónica UK Ltd. , which has a market share of 27 percent, according to this Reuters report.

T-Mobile sparked some speculation earlier this year when it brought in a new management team in the U.K. to "reposition the company." (See T-Mobile Preps UK Revamp, Downturn Smacks Deutsche Telekom , Orange Denies T-Mobile Bid, and VOD, O2 to Share Networks?)

re: Vodafone Mulls T-Mobile Bid

Although Vodafone yet to finaliza the Bid, but it will rock in future as LTE is its main focus. But will Vodafone continue its consistance policy in all over the World by selecting ALU and Ericsson? This questions yet to be answered.

But I now believe that after diverting its attention fron WiMAX to LTE, NSN will now play a major role in near future in deciding fate of all operators.
