SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Veraz Networks announced that CosmoLine has deployed Veraz Networks' I-Gate 4000 media gateways to carry its national and international bilateral traffic between 10 major cities in Greece and to international destinations such as London. The Veraz I-Gate 4000 enables CosmoLine to efficiently develop its fast growing network enabling future integration and delivery of new revenue-generating NGN services without compromising on toll quality or service stability to its customers.

In the CosmoLine network, the Veraz I-Gate 4000 links carry voice and signaling traffic using VoIP. CosmoLine chose the Veraz gateways due to its enhanced ability to deliver high voice and fax compression while maintaining carrier-grade voice quality. In comparison, Veraz's gateway compression is more than double that of other vendors. CosmoLine is already planning for network expansion, as well as leveraging the additional capabilities of the I-Gate 4000 in an NGN mode.

"We have another very satisfied customer. This time the application is for trunking capabilities for CosmoLine's traffic and to address their needs for a high compression ratio, while maintaining toll quality telephony services," said Dr. Tal Simchony, CEO, Veraz Networks. "We believe the I-Gate 4000 is a classic choice for carriers transforming their networks from TDM to NGN and seeking long-term protection for their investments."
