LAS VEGAS -- Mariner today announced that Telecommunications Services of Trinidad and Tobago (TSTT) is deploying Mariner's xVu IPTV service monitoring solution to support the expansion of services and the maintenance of service quality for its Blink Entertainment TV service.

The xVu service is used in conjunction with Advanced Digital Broadcasting (ADB) TR-69 software and enables proactive customer support. This is done by providing complete visibility of customers' TV viewing experiences, effectively monitoring in real time the video and audio performance across the entire network, including in the home, and making that critical customer usage and service performance information readily available.

Launched in November 2009, Blink Entertainment offers more than 120 high definition and standard definition channels, including video on demand (VOD), Pay per View (PPV), and Digital Video Record (DVR) features. The service represents a significant investment by TSTT to develop a differentiated TV service that can challenge Trinidad and Tobago's entrenched service providers. Blink Entertainment offers greater package flexibility, a more personalized viewing experience and crystal clear picture quality.

"We are looking to enhance the viewing and service experience of Blink Entertainment TV and decrease our operating costs as well," states Gary Barrow, executive vice-president of Converged Services. "As we continue to expand our TV service across Trinidad and Tobago, it is essential that we provide a superior level of service and do it cost effectively. Mariner's xVu tool set is providing the insight to better isolate TV troubles and reduce the number of dispatches to customers' homes," Barrow goes on to state.
